Way back in the dim early dawn of computer text, Comic Sans was amusing and unpretentious. By now it's been so overdone that people are no longer amused, and have noticed that it actually has very little aesthetic appeal or personality of any kind. It's schlock. It either says "I'm deliberately trying to offend you," or perhaps "I'm desperately trying to be creative and funny but I have no idea how." Or maybe "I haven't looked at a computer in 30 years, what was that font I used to like?"
