Guessing a movie from frame/still is a pretty popular game concept. It's going to be a serious uphill battle to get anyone to sign up when there's plenty of places to play this same game without that friction.
What do you think about the concept of community collections though? They allow people from any part of the world to add frames from movies of their local languages/regions and play amongst each other. This is inspired from Geoguessr.
Yeah that could definitely work. I think most of the ones I've seen are pretty Western-centric.
Personally I'd drop the signup (or at least make it optional), add in a room link / invitation system, and then setup some packs by country - maybe even autodetecting incoming IP address of visitor and suggesting a pack for them (famous Japanese movies, famous French films, etc).
