One could argue that Facebook users just go to Facebook, so they don't need Google, so it cuts out the middle man... especially in an age of apps. However, the drop is pretty massive. It is also a steady down trend, where it doesn't look like a change in how data is reported.
That said, they are still the #3 most visited site, and I'm having trouble adding anything to that chart that doesn't just look like a flat line in comparison to Facebook's peak. Looking at just the last 5 years lets us better see ChatGPT overtaking it and YouTube sitting on top of it.
I do hear of a lot of people using Facebook Marketplace, though I've never used it myself. The couple people I know who still frequent Facebook are rather difficult to talk to, as all they do is browse Facebook and hold up their phone to show things that made them laugh. It's pretty off-putting.
